In the first months of life, a foal needs many building materials for healthy bone development. However, it is extremely important that these are available to the foal in the right proportions. Too much of one or too little of the other building material can lead to abnormalities such as OC/OCD. If the mineral ratio is not right, the absorption of essential minerals can be disturbed.
Minerals in the right ratio:
Pavo PodoCare contains the minerals phosphorus, magnesium, calcium and vitamin D to support optimal bone growth. Phosphorus and magnesium are particularly important for healthy bone formation. Calcium is often mistakenly assumed to have an increased requirement. However, calcium is already sufficiently present in mother’s milk and roughage. The proportions of minerals in Pavo PodoCare are precisely adapted to the needs of young foals, based on the latest scientific findings. It contains no wheat and is therefore suitable for a gluten-free diet.
Feeding tip: Try to get your foal used to Pavo PodoCare as early as possible. Already at 4 to 6 weeks foals playfully try to eat the same food as their mother, mostly by starting to “nibble” from the same feed bucket. It is advisable to teach your foal to eat on its own from this early stage. Therefore, offer him his own feed bucket next to the mare’s feed bucket.
